This selection of mostly black and white oil paintings and charcoal drawings address issues pertaining to the human condition, the passage of time, death, war, and the struggle to find happiness and comfort in the face of uncertainty. The work is based on collages I create using my own, found, and appropriated photography that I transform into paintings. I want the result of this process to evoke an uncertain nostalgia.
